Chapters
What is a Chapter?
An EveryKidsHealth chapter is an extension of our nonprofit organization, created to support preemies and newborns within local communities. Chapters can be formed by groups of any size, whether it's a small team of six or a large group of fifty, and they are integral to our mission. These chapters can function as school clubs, community groups, or larger regional initiatives.
A key aspect of chapters is their continuous commitment to the cause. Unlike one-time projects, chapters involve ongoing efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with team members, volunteers, stakeholders, and local healthcare facilities. This sustained engagement ensures that the impact of EveryKidsHealth is deeply felt at the community level, providing essential resources, support, and advocacy for families with preemies and newborns.
By establishing and nurturing these connections, chapters help us achieve our mission of offering comprehensive care and support to vulnerable infants and their families, making a tangible difference in their lives.
How to Start a Chapter
1. Register Your Interest
-
If your chapter will be based in a school, start by discussing your plan with school leadership and obtaining their approval.
2. Submit Your Application
-
Fill out the EveryKidsHealth chapter application form available on our website. Provide all necessary details about your group and your plans.
3. Attend an Interview
-
Once your application is reviewed, you will be invited to an interview with our executive team. This is to ensure alignment with our mission and to answer any questions you may have.
4. Appoint Chapter Officers
-
Select key officers for your chapter, such as a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. These roles will help manage and organize your chapter's activities.
5. Complete Required Documentation
-
Ensure all necessary forms are completed and submitted, including any budget forms and annual reports.
6. Set Goals
-
Define clear, achievable goals for your chapter. This can include fundraising targets, volunteer hour goals, and community outreach objectives.
7. Plan Events and Fundraisers
-
Brainstorm and draft ideas for events and fundraisers that your chapter will host. Make sure they align with EveryKidsHealth's mission and goals.
8. Recruit Members
-
Start recruiting members and partners for your chapter. The more support you have, the more impactful your efforts will be.
By following these steps, you can establish a successful EveryKidsHealth chapter that makes a meaningful difference in your community.
